How US MES costs compare to India
US MES projects cost 2 to 3 times more than equivalent Indian projects primarily because of US-market engineering rates and compliance requirements. FDA 21 CFR Part 11 electronic records for pharma or aerospace adds 25 to 40 percent to the base scope for validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ). IATF 16949 data requirements for automotive add 15 to 20 percent for the traceability and quality modules.

Total SAP integration adds USD 40,000 to 120,000 to the base MES cost and 4 to 8 weeks to the timeline. The integration complexity is higher at plants running SAP ECC (older, less API-friendly) than at plants running S/4HANA with the OData API layer.
