How does OEE tracking improve throughput?

OEE tracking converts three fuzzy sources of loss (machine availability, cycle-time variance and quality escapes) into one continuously measured number. What is predictive maintenance?

Predictive maintenance is the practice of using sensor data and machine-learning models to forecast equipment failures before they happen, and to trigger maintenance only when the data indicates it is needed. Instead of servicing on a fixed calendar, teams act on early warnings from vibration, temperature or current-signature signals, cutting both unplanned downtime and unnecessary maintenance spend.
